A car caught fire while crossing the Koyambedu flyover on Monday. While the driver has escaped with burn injuries, a passenger succumbed to it. Further details awaited.

This is the second fire incident of the day in Chennai. Earlier, a scrapyard godown Korukkupet caught fire, although no one was hurt. The police are still trying to find out what sparked the blaze.
