Security guard arrested for sharing sleaze video to hosteller

The hostel security guard misused the inmates's register to access phone numbers and send objectionable videos.

CHENNAI: The Chennai police have arrested an hostel security guard for sending a obscene videos to a college student residing at the hostel in OMR's Padur.

42-year-old Balasubramani, from Tirunelveli, was posted as security guard for a hostel under a private arts and science college in OMR's Padur a week ago. A register to record the in and out time of the students is maintained at the hostel.

Balasubramani had misused the register by saving a 19-year-old girl's phone number to send her objectionable videos.

Shocked seeing the videos, the student escalated the issue to the college principal. She hasn't saved the security guard's number hence was unaware of the one sending these videos.

The principal then learned that Balasubramani was sending the videos. He then immediately lodged a complaint with the Kelambakkam police station who then arrested him and filed a case under various sections.
