VJ Chitra's suicide case transferred to central crime branch

Chitra's husband Hemnath was also arrested by the RDO investigation for allegedly aiding the actress' suicide.

Following the request of VJ Chitra's mother, Chennai City Police Commissioner Maheshkumar Agarwal has ordered the transfer of VJ Chitra's suicide case to the central crime branch.

Chitra's mother and friends have raised many suspicions and speculations about Chitra's suicide. 

Meanwhile, in the RDO report submitted on December 31, dowry harassment angle was ruled out.

Chitra's husband Hemnath was also arrested by the RDO investigation for allegedly aiding the actress' suicide. Fraudulent charges were also registered against Hemnath.

Hemnath and Chitra got engaged last year and registered their marriage a few months back. On the morning of December 9, she was found hanging in a hotel room on the outskirts of the city.

After questioning him for six days, Nazarethpet police arrested him on a charge of abetting her suicide.
