‘TTV wanted CM post when Jaya was alive’

Terming TTV Dhinakaran as a traitor, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam said the founder of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) had dreamt of becoming the Chief Minister even when former AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa was at the helm of governance.

Speaking at a public meeting at Mannargudi in Tiruvarur district late on Saturday evening, Panneerselvam said, “Because of his plans to become the CM, Jayalalithaa did not allow him inside Poes Garden.”

Taking exception at the AMMK leader calling him a traitor, Panneerselvam said, “TTV Dhinakaran calls me a traitor as if he is a man who had sacrificed everything. He is the traitor in reality.”

However, Dhinakaran countered Panneerselvam by saying, “He (Panneerselvam) is frustrated over not becoming the Chief Minister and hence speaking like a mentally unstable person.”

He also said that when Jayalalithaa was hospitalised, Panneerselvam was made Chief Minister by him but after becoming CM he acted against him and his family.

“Panneerselvam is the traitor as he betrayed the party and those who trusted him a lot.”

Dhinakaran also said that Panneerselvam would soon face the consequences as the government would collapse soon and that he would be thrown out of power by the people.
