CHENNAI: BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran, on Tuesday, announced a series of grand Tiranga Yatras across the State to mark the success of Operation Sindoor and India's resolute stand against terrorism emanating from Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters at Kamalalayam, the state party headquarters, Nainar Nagenthran lauded the Indian armed forces for executing a precision strike of unprecedented scale.

“Operation Sindoor has delivered a crippling blow to Pakistan's terrorist training camps and security installations that have long sheltered perpetrators of violence, including those responsible for the recent Pahalgam massacre,” he said.

Condemning Pakistan's continued support for cross-border terrorism, Nainar asserted, “They came in military attire like cowards to protect terror hubs. But our brave forces responded with unmatched courage, skill, and strategic acumen, reflecting the steadfast leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

“To honour this feat, the BJP will organise Tiranga Yatras in four phases, with the inaugural procession scheduled in Chennai on May 14, followed by other major cities on May 15, district headquarters on May 16 and 17, and a wider outreach on assembly constituencies, taluks, towns, and large villages from May 18 to 23,” he said.

“The yatras aim to pay homage to the valour and sacrifice of our soldiers while celebrating unity and patriotic spirit of our citizens,” Nainar said, urging the public to participate in large numbers.

Taking a swipe at opposition leaders, the BJP legislative leader questioned the patriotism of MDMK's Vaiko and Congress leader Peter Alphonse for their alleged disparaging remarks on the Prime Minister and armed forces. He also criticised Chief Minister MK Stalin for his silence on the issue.

“To ensure a resounding victory in the 2026 Assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has forged a strong and strategic alliance in Tamil Nadu. Under his leadership and direction, we are confident of achieving a significant triumph,” he added.
