Three robbers, including a juvenile, arrested near Otteri

CHENNAI: Three robbers including a juvenile studying in Class 12 were arrested after they robbed a  handbag from a woman two wheeler rider near Otteri on Sunday.

In their attempt to flee, the trio rammed their bike onto another vehicle and fell down after which public rounded them up and handed them over to the police.

The woman, Sarathi was returning home after attending an engagement when the incident happened. Her niece was riding pillion in her two wheeler and when they were riding along Cooks road, the trio who were trailing the women snatched the handbag from the rider, police said.

As Sarathi raised an alarm, many onlookers chased the trio. While the trio managed to escape, they banged against another parked bike negotiating a curve and fell to the ground.

Otteri Police arrested B Harish (22) of Perambur, G Santosh (20) of Otteri and a class 12 student.

Two of them were remanded to judicial custody while the juvenile delinquent was sent to a correctional home.
