Student from MP found dead in hostel room on Chennai outskirts

The deceased student was identified as Mugulu Vishwanath, a native of Madhya Pradesh.

CHENNAI: A 19-year-old student of a private university in Chennai outskirts was found dead in his hostel room on Sunday.

The deceased student was identified as Mugulu Vishwanath, a native of Madhya Pradesh. Police said that the student was pursuing a B.Tech degree in computer science.

On Thursday, he retired to his hostel room and never came out. He did not come to classes on Friday too. His friends who grew suspicious as he was not seen in the mess area too informed the warden after which his room was broke open.

The teenager was found dead in his room after which Maraimalar Nagar police secured the body and sent it to government hospital for autopsy. Further investigations are on.
