Retired cop’s son hacked to death in Tiruporur

A 39-year-old history-sheeter was murdered by a gang and his body was left half burnt near his father’s grave near Tiruporur on Monday. His father was a retired police sub-inspector.

The deceased, C Sathish of Melaiyur village near Tiruporur, was a history-sheeter and have many murder, attempt to murder and robbery cases against him in Chengalpattu, Maraimalainagar, Guduvanchery, Mahabalipuram and Tiruporur.

The Tiruporur police received information on Tuesday morning that a half-burnt body was lying in the Melaiyur cemetery.

Chengalpattu Superintendent of Police T Kannan, who visited the spot along with a team, found that the body belonged to Sathish and he was killed near his father’s cemetery. The police retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem examination to Chengalpattu Government Hospital.

Police sources said his father, Chandran, was retried police sub-inspector. Sathish has three wives and he got separated from the third. Currently, Sathish was staying with his second wife, Lakshmi. Sathish recently jumped into politics and was planning to contest in the elections. The police said a gang had kidnapped him in a car and they might have attacked him with sickles and then burnt his face.

The Tiruporur police have registered a case and are trying to trace the murderers and their motive. The police suspect that motive to be a rivalry between two gangs.
