Reading awareness event held at Chennai Book Fair

CHENNAI: The ‘Chennai Vaasikirathu’ (Chennai Reads), a reading awareness event, was held at the 49th Chennai Book Fair on Monday. 

The Director of School Education, S Kannappan, was the chief guest.

He distributed books and certificates to 1,000 students who participated and delivered a special address on the importance of reading. Booksellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI) President RS Shanmugam and other members of the association were present in the event.

The book fair will go in Till January 21 at YMCA Grounds in Nandanam. At the book fair, several competitions and events are held for the students.
