PM Modi visit: Flying drones banned on April 3, 4 in Chennai

BNSS is already in force from March 24 to May 22 in Greater Chennai Police limits, an official release stated

CHENNAI: In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Chennai on April 3 (Friday) and April 4 (Saturday), the areas around Meenambakkam and Guindy in Greater Chennai Police limit have been declared as ‘Red Zone’.

Flying of drone cameras and Unmanned Aerial Objects (UAO) have also been banned in the aforementioned areas in Chennai on April 3 and 4, except those arranged by the government.

The promulgation of orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, prohibits the use of drones, remote controlled microlight aircraft, para gliders, para motors, hot air balloons etc.
