As per the procedure, he was asked to go on self-quarantine and was allotted a room at a hotel in T Nagar. It is said that he was supposed to return to duty on Tuesday.

However, his family members who could not reach him over the phone contacted the hotel staff to check on him. The room was opened with a spare key and Lokesh was found lying unconscious after vomiting food and blood. He was rushed to Government Royapettah Hospital (GRH), where he was declared brought dead.
