Permanent traffic changes at Madhya Kailash junction from Sept 10

CHENNAI: Chennai traffic police said that the trial run of traffic diversions, which was in place in Madhya Kailash junction for the past three months, will be made permanent from September 10.

“Due to existence of IT companies and amusement centers on OMR and ECR there has been heavy traffic on Sardar Patel Road. To ease this, the trial run was conducted from May 29 and it was welcomed by the motorists,” an official release said.

Accordingly, vehicles coming from OMR intended to proceed towards Adyar will be diverted at OMR Service Road (Behind Madhya Kailash Temple). These vehicles will take the route via Sardar Patel Road, Gandhi Mandapam Fly Over Service Road, and take “U” turn beneath the Gandhi Mandapam Bridge, again Sardar Patel Road and CPT Junction to reach their destination.

These vehicles also can take right turn at Indira Nagar Signal and reach LB Road Junction via Indira Nagar 2nd Avenue (Water Tank Road), Indira Nagar 1st Avenue Junction and LB Road to reach their destination.
