Pastor on lookout in Pocso case arrested near Chennai

CHENNAI: Police arrested a pastor who was on the lookout in a Pocso case for the past few years in Chengalpattu on Thursday.

The accused pastor Charles (58) of Vayalur in Kalpakkam was running an orphanage in the locality till 2018. Later, since Charles was misbehaving with the children, the orphanage was closed and the Mahabalipuram all-women police who registered a case under Pocso Act were looking for the pastor who was missing.

On Wednesday, the police found Charles's mobile phone was active in Koyambedu and soon the police who rushed to the spot found Charles having food inside a restaurant and arrested him. The police took him to the Mahabalipuram all-women police station and further inquiry is on.
