Order issued to use homeopathy drug, govt tells HC

The use of homeopathy medicine arsenicum album 30 as an immunity booster to public, patients and quarantined persons has been notified through a Government Order issued on April 23, State government informed the Madras High Court.

The submission was made before a division bench presided by Justice M Sathyanarayanan on a plea moved by J Jesiah Anto Poovendan, a homeopathy practitioner.

Following the green signal from the Ministry of Ayush to give arsenicum album 30 as immune booster to decrease susceptibility to COVID 19 infection, the State government issued an order directing its use, government pleader Jayaprakash Narayanan informed the court.

It was also pointed out that the medicine was available in all homeopathy medical shops. Based on the submission, the bench closed the plea.

The petitioner had sought the supply of the medicine free of cost throughout the State.
