Narikuravars petition Collector for basic amenities

More than 30 families of Narikuravars have been residing below the Periyakuppam Railway Flyover for several years along with their children without houses of their own.

TIRUVALLUR: A group of people belonging to the Narikuravar community approached the Collector and requested him to provide them with basic amenities such as ration cards and Aadhaar cards in Tiruvallur on Monday.

More than 30 families of Narikuravars have been residing below the Periyakuppam Railway Flyover for several years along with their children without houses of their own.

On Monday, they gathered at the Collectorate and met Collector Dr Alby John Varghese to explain their plight. They also submitted a petition to him to ensure that they are eligible for land allocation by the government and to provide them with Aadhaar and ration cards. The Collector who received their petition promised action on it at the earliest.
