A middle-aged woman lost her life at Moolakadai-Madhavaram junction after an MTC bus lost control and ran over her. The victim was identified as Manjula (40). A motorist Lingesan was also severely injured in the accident. According to an eyewitness, the MTC bus (170 C) plying from Madhavaram to Manali, was crossing the Moolakadai-Madhavarm junction Thursday morning when the driver ploughed the bus onto the pavement due to brake failure. The woman’s body was moved to Kilpauk Medical college hospital for post mortem. The Madhavaram police arrested the bus driver Sekar and are investigating the matter.
