The victim Jeeva sustained 57 per cent burns and continued to be critical on Monday. Police suspect that Jeeva of Kasimedu could have come to the yard in search of something as trespassing is prohibited in the premises. He climbed onto one of the containers brought from port and loaded on a goods train and must have mistakenly touched the live high-tension line.

“Usually, 25 kV alternating current electrification is used in railway electrification systems. He was thrown off with severe burns and passers-by rushed him to the hospital,”police sources said. The officials also pointed out that very rarely people coming in contact with railway electrification systems survived.
