Man hacked to death at Kattankolathur

An unidentified man was hacked to death in Kattankolathur on Saturday.

Passers-by who noticed the body of a man lying dead in a pool of blood at a bus stop on GST Road in front of the Regional Development Office. He had bruises on his face, neck and shoulders. They alerted the Maraimalai Nagar police, who retrieved the body and sent to the Chengalpattu Government hospital for autopsy. The police suspect the deceased could be from some other town, as a bag containing clothes, toiletries and spectacles was found lying near the body. As his wallet is missing, police suspect that he could have been murdered for gain. A case of suspicious death has been registered and further investigation is on. A man being murdered on the highway where there are government offices and a residential school shocked the residents of Kattankolathur.
