Man avenges brother’s murder after 8 years

A man on Sunday executed a revenge killing, eight years after his brother was murdered, by hacking a 45-year-old suspect in Chengalpattu.

The deceased was identified as Sekar, who was a main accused in the murder of one Vijayakumar, a panchayat leader, in 2012.

Sekar was listed as the main accused in the murder. Sekar was facing a few other cases of threatening, collection of rowdy mamool and running sand mafia.

On Sunday afternoon Sekar was going to his friend’s place in Selvi Nagar near Chengalpattu on a bike when a six-member gang led by Vijayakumar’s brother Suresh, on 3 bikes intercepted him.

Seeing Suresh among the six, Sekar abandoned the bike and tried to run away from the spot. However, the gang members chased him and hacked him to death before speeding away from the spot.

Even as the Chengalpattu taluk police team arrived at the scene of the crime and started collecting evidence, at around 5 pm Suresh and his associates identified as Gautam, Manikandan, Babu, Mohideen and Mahesh reached the Chengalpattu SP office and surrendered. All of them were arrested and being remanded, police said.
