The accused was identified as H Mohammed Rafiq (28) of Madhavaram. He is a history-sheeter and has been detained under the Goondas Act twice, said police. 

The accused snatched the chain from a woman, who was travelling with her husband Satish on a two-wheeler, near Madhavaram Rountana. Sathish had registered a complaint at Madhavaram police station. 

Similarly, two persons have been arrested in the jurisdiction for indulging in robbery at knifepoint. Two knives and Rs 900 were seized from the accused A Iniyan (36) and Kalidas (35). Police said that both of them are history-sheeters and have several cases pending against them. Meanwhile, Ennore police have also arrested a history-sheeter P Ramesh and seized a knife from him.
