Indian passport with fake Aadhaar: SL national held

The Central Crime Branch has detained a Sri Lankan national for an inquiry.

B Thajudeen (55) was picked up from his residence in Anna Nagar West along with his wife by the Q Branch sleuths on Wednesday night and taken to Tirumangalam police station. While Thajudeen’s wife was let off after inquiry, Thajudeen was detained for inquiry as he is said to be in possession of a passport obtained with fake Aadhaar card as if he is an Indian national.

After inquiry, he was handed over to the fake passport team of the Central Crime Branch who remanded him in judicial custody. Police said Thajudeen moved to India in 1989 and have been staying in Chennai since 1996. While he is employed by a private bank, his son is settled in Bengaluru, said police. Further investigation is on.
