The tri-city marathon that was held in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad simultaneously on Sunday, witnessed active participation from people across all age groups.

Actor Vishal flagged off the marathon in Chennai at the YMCA Grounds in which some dedicated the run to their mothers, some ran for their children and a few others for womanhood. The proceeds of the event will go to Seek Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that focuses on empowering women through education and knowledge of their basic rights.

Womanathon, that also contributes to treat diseases in women and girls, plans to conduct such runs across more number of cities next year to commemorate Women’s day.
