CHENNAI: Flight services were affected in the Chennai airport following the rain on Tuesday. The flights were operated by a delay but no flights were cancelled.

The Indigo Airlines flights from Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, and Kolkata were made to wait in the air for a long time because of rain.

Airport officials also inspected the flights for safety, and clearance for landing was given after inspections on the runway.

Flights from Delhi, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Lucknow were delayed for a while. A total of 15 flight services were affected following the rain.

Officials said that since it wasn’t heavy rain with no lightning and thunder, flights were “only delayed, and not cancelled”.
