Ganja peddler wanted in murder case in Maduranthagam kills self

A 23-year-old man, who was on the lookout by the police in the connection with the murder of a ganja peddler in Maduranthagam committed suicide on Sunday night.

The deceased Annamalai (23) of Gandhi Nagar in Maduranthagam was also a ganja peddler. Police said Annamalai was involved in the last week’s murder of ganja peddler Karthick of Selaiyur. While police arrested six of those involved in the murder, Annamalai went into hiding and police were was on the lookout for him.

On Sunday night, Annamalai committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near his house. On information, a team of Maduranthagam police arrived at the spot on Monday morning, retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem to Maduranthagam Government Hospital. Police have registered a case and further inquiry is on.
