Gang hacks history-sheeter in Nagai district

In murder and counter murder incident, a notorious history-sheeter was hacked to death in the wee hours in Mayiladuthurai in Nagapattinam district.

It is said, there were a prolonged enmity and gang rivalry between gang of Kannayan of Athur near Mayiladuthurai and the gang of Manalmedu Sankar for a few years and both the gangs executed a series of murders. Meanwhile, a few years back, Kannayan and his son in law Adhikesavan were murdered by Manohar (43) of Athur, a close aide of the noted rowdy Manalmedu Sankar. Manohar and his brother Balaiah were involved in the murder then and Manohar went for hiding since then.

In the meantime, in a tit for tat murder, Balaiah, brother of Manohar was murdered by Adhi Kesvan’s son Suman a few years back and Suman was arrested and has been lodged in the central prison. While Suman was in the prison, Mahonar was making plans to murder Suman but at the same time, Suman had been charting out plans to murder Manohar with a gang he met in the prison. A few days back, Manohar who came to his native place in Athur from Chennai where he was hiding and stayed at another brother Kaliyaperumal’s house.

 n Monday early hours, Kaliyaperumal took Manohar on his bike to send him off to Chennai, when a four-member gang surrounded the duo when they were near Kadalangudi bridge and assaulted Manohar with lethal weapons in which he sustained severe injuries at various parts including a severe deep cut injury at his neck. Soon Manohan fell onto the ground dead in a pool of blood. On receiving the information, Manalmedu police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body of Manohar.
