Fast local EMUs to stop at all stations between Tambaram and Chennai Beach

The EMU fast local train services operated from Chennai Beach to Chengalpattu and Arakkonam would be stopped at all stations between Tambaram and Beach due to engineering works.

The works would be undertaken at Kodambakkam Yard from 10 am to 2 pm on Friday, and on Chennai Egmore - Villupuram section for four hours from 9.40 am to 1.40 pm on Saturday. The Chengalpattu - Chennai Beach EMU Fast local leaving Chengalpattu at 8:50 am will be dealt in slow line from Tambaram with stoppages at all suburban stations from Tambaram to Chennai Beach on February 28 and 29. The Arakkonam - Chennai Beach EMU fast local leaving Chengalpattu at 9:05 am will be dealt in slow line from Tambaram with stoppages at all suburban stations from Tambaram to Beach on February 28 and 29, said a statement from Southern Railway (SR) said.


In another announcement, it said the frequency of MGR Chennai Central – Sivamogga Town special fare special train (no 06222) would be increased from weekly to bi-weekly. It would leave MGR Chennai Central at 3 pm on February 29, and March 7, 14, 21 and 28, and reach Shivamogga Town at 3.55 am next day.


It would stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Bangarpet, Krishnarajapuram, Banaswadi, Chikbanavar, Tumkur, Arsikere, Kadur, Birur, Tarikereand Badravati.
