Family of 5 held for murder of fisherman

The Ennore police have arrested a 60-year-old man and his four sons for murdering a fisherman in a drunken brawl.

The accused, also fishermen, were identified as Singaravelan (60), Alex Rajesh (33), Amudha Niranjan (29), Mike Tyson (27) and Nelson Mandela (23) of Kasi Visalakshipuram. The deceased, Tamilarasan and Amudha Niranjan were consuming liquor together on Tuesday when a quarrel erupted between them. It is said that Tamilarasan snapped one of Amudha Niranja's ears with a knife and his family attacked Tamilarasan with weapons. Tamilasaran died at a hospital on Wednesday. The Ennore police, who registered a case on the incident booked all five on murder charges and remanded them in judicial custody.
