Ex-employee held for damaging bizman’s cars

A 30-year-old woman has been arrested by Thousand Lights police on the charges of damaging two luxury cars of her former employer.

CHENNAI: The accused N Priyanka (30) of Jayalakshmipuram in Nungambakkam was booked under Sections 448, 294b, 427 and 506 (2) and remanded in judicial custody based on a complaint on behalf of businessman Sam Paul, who had also contested in the Parliamentary elections from Central Chennai constituency in PMK ticket.

Police said that Priyanka had been employed by Sam Paul at his chain of salons before she was allegedly made to quit the job a year ago. Priyanka, who would often visit Sam Paul’s residence at Rutland Gate and create a ruckus, reached his house on Sunday night and allegedly hurled stones at his two luxury cars in the parking lot.

While windshields of the cars were damaged in the attack, a complaint was lodged at Thousand Lights police station. Police picked up Priyanka from her house on Monday morning and remanded her to judicial custody.

Police said that Priyanka, whose parents are no more, was depressed over losing her job.
