DT Impact: Ministers inspect flooded areas in Thalambur

Hours after DT Next carried a report highlighting the woes of residents at Thalambur near Tiruporur in Chengalpattu district due to floodwater stagnating for nearly two weeks, Ministers KA Sengottaiyan and P Benjamin inspected the spot on Wednesday.

The Ministers directed officials who accompanied them to take immediate steps to bail the stagnant water using high-power motor pumps. They also assured the residents that the government would take steps to ensure that water stagnation in the area was resolved before the next monsoon.

The report that was published on Wednesday had brought to light the struggles of the public, who are dependent on lorries and tractors to come out of their homes due to the floodwater.
