Customs seize MDMA pills worth Rs 4L

Customs officials at the Chennai airport seized MDMA tablets worth Rs 4 lakh from a parcel which arrived from France.

Based on intelligence, Customs detained one postal parcel suspected to contain narcotic substance, which arrived from France. On examination, officials found pink coloured tablets suspected to be MDMA, a narcotics substance, inside a plastic pouch. The tablets, known as “ACAB Pig”, were in the shape of a pig. The tablets contained around 250 mg of MDMA, which is a very high dose. As many as 130 MDMA pills, valued at Rs 4 lakh, were seized under the NDPS Act. Meanwhile, footfall of domestic passengers witnessed a dip on Tuesday and airport sources attributed the decrease to the confusion at e-pass counters at the airport.
