COVID 19: TN records 5,337 new COVID cases while 5,406 recovered

The COVID recovery cases exceeded the new infections as on September 22, in Tamil Nadu. Chennai continued to see a downward trend with 989 cases reported.

As many as 5,337 people tested positive for coronavirus in Tamil Nadu over the past 24 hours, the State Health Department on Wednesday, increasing the COVID infections toll in the state to 5,52,674.

In the last 24 hours, 76 people succumbed to COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday pushing the death toll in the state to 8,947.

According to the bulletin released by the health department, as many as 5,406 were recovered and discharged today.

While the state capital, Chennai recorded a total of 989 new cases, while 19 succumbed to the virus.
