The Corporation maintains 7,351 stormwater drains which run up to the length of 1,894 km. Desilting of these storm water drains at the cost of Rs 21 crore is underway and repair works are being carried out at a cost of Rs 15.91 crore.

Meanwhile, a total of 469 places in 15 zones without stormwater drains were identified and works are underway to link them to the existing stormwater drains.

As far as desilting of canals maintained by the Corporation is concerned, 30 big canals are being desilted using heavy equipment while smaller canals are being desilted using robotic devices.

The officials were asked to identify the areas that will be inundated easily and ensure the availability pump sets with high horsepowers to remove the water and wood cutting machines.
