Cop, journalist die of COVID in Kancheepuram

A 52-year-old Special Sub-Inspector and a Kancheepuram district reporter of a private TV channel died after contracting coronavirus in the same hospital on Wednesday.

The SSI, identified as Palani, was attached to the Kancheepuram Deputy Superintendent of Police office. A few days ago, Palani, who came down with fever, tested positive for the virus. He was admitted to a private hospital in Thandalam and died without responding for treatments on Wednesday morning. The reporter, Ramanathan (52), was also admitted to the same hospital after testing positive for coronavirus a few days ago. On Wednesday morning, Ramanathan, too, succumbed to the disease.
