In her letter to the State Home Secretary, Additional Director-General of Police (Prisons), Madurai district Collector and the Superintendent of the Prison here, P Rajeswarai of Aruppukottai in Virudhunagar district appealed to the officials to provide treatment to Ravichandran either at a private hospital or government hospital situated outside the Madurai Central prison, where he was  lodged at present.

She said Ravichandran was very weak and found it difficult to even walk properly, when she met him in the prison on April 12. “My son complained of not being able to eat solid food. His eyes were pale and his thoughts kept drifting from one issue to another as he kept talking to me. He was suffering from giddiness, stomach ache and constipation among other problems,” she said.
