Class 12 results leaked ahead of scheduled time?

Though the Directorate of Government Examinations declared that the Class 12 results for 2016 would be released at 10.31 am on Tuesday, details of the toppers were circulated in social media around 75 minutes earlier.

The message containing the name of the toppers was first posted by a Tirunelveli based TV scribe at 9.15 am on a WhatsApp group on Tuesday. This was followed by another message with photos of the toppers, which were allegedly sent by a Krishnagiri district official associated with School Education Department.

By 9.45am, the message started circulating in most groups. Many dismissed the message as fake, however, when the results were published online, people were shocked that the results circulated earlier were authentic.
