Choirs from parishes come together to usher in Christmas spirit

Seven choirs from parishes across Chennai gathered together on December 15 at the Church Of The Visitation Of Our Lady in Abhiramapuram to usher in the Christmas spirit with carols. The idea was mooted by Father Anthony Raj of the Abhiramapuram parish.

The senior music teacher at Don Bosco School, Egmore, Maria O’Connor led the initiative and trained the singers — from eight to 80-year-olds. The choirs were from St.Louis, Santhome, St.Mark’s, St.Teresa’s, Velankanni and Lady of Light Churches. They belted out carols like Oh Holy Night, A King Is Born and Feliz Navidad.
