The police and the fishermen searched for his body for hours but in vain. The police said that V Mahaveer Shoniker (18) reached Chennai on Friday with his parents to meet his elder brother. On Sunday morning, all four went to Marina beach as their return journey was only on Monday. Around 10 am when Mahaveer and his brother were swimming in the sea, the former suddenly went missing. Mahaveer’s father Vinoth Shoniker sought the help of patrol police. As he could not be traced, a case was registered at the Marina police station and the search operation is on.
