Chennai: Woman finds bag with Rs 1.8 L cash, hands it to police

CHENNAI: A 25-year-old woman found a bag with Rs 1.8 lakh cash near Madhya Kailash junction and returned it to the police on Monday.

A Ajithkumar (48) of Kottur had dropped the bag, unaware, from his two-wheeler while returning home from work. He then filed a complaint with the Kotturpuram police station.

Another motorist, Aishwarya Lakshmi (25), found the bag and handed it to a traffic policeman, who alerted the control room.

The personnel from the Kotturpuram police station coordinated with the owner of the bag and handed it over to him after verifying his credentials.
