Reportedly, the fire had started to blaze again around 1 am with mini fires erupting now and then. According to officials, the building has weakened greatly after the massive fire accident.

As per the reports, the road on either side of Ranganathan Street and The Chennai Silks is very narrow to allow fire engines to enter for rescue operations.

It is noteworthy that T Nagar is the commercial hub of the city and building violations are rampant in the area despite HC's intervention.
