Chennai metro trains to operate on Sunday schedule on Dec 25

As per the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), during the peak hours from 12 noon to 8 pm, trains will operate every seven minutes

CHENNAI: On account of Christmas festival on Thursday, the Chennai Metro Rail will operate as per the Sunday timetable. Services will begin from 5 am till 11 pm.

As per the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), during the peak hours from 12 noon to 8 pm, trains will operate every seven minutes. During non-peak hours from 5 am to noon and 8-10 pm, the trains will be available every 10 minutes. In the extended non-peak hours 10-11 pm, trains will be operated every 15 minutes.

The CMRL has recorded over 92 lakh passenger footfall in November, keeping the ridership over 90 lakh in 5 consecutive months, where the average ridership/day is also inching towards 3.50 lakh.
