Chennai Metro Rail to operate on Saturday timetable on Wednesday owing to Muharram Festival; check details here

CHENNAI: In connection with Muharram festival on Wednesday, the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) will be following the Saturday train schedule.

As per the note from CMRL, Metro trains will run during the service hours from 5 am to 11 pm.

On Wednesday, between 8 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 8 pm, the trains will operate with a headway of six minutes.

And, from 5 am to 8 am, 11 am to 5 pm and 8 pm to 10 pm, the trains will run every seven minutes. Lastly, between 10 pm to 11 pm, the Metro trains will be available every 15 minutes.

To boost ridership, CMRL offers a 20 percent discount on all ticketing (Metro travel card, mobile QR code ticketing - single, return, group tickets and QR trip passes, Whatsapp, Paytm and PhonePe).

Also, passengers can now also book their tickets through CMRL Whatsapp ticketing system (+91 83000 86000) and paytm also.
