CHENNAI: Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) stated on its X handle on Wednesday that Chennai Metro travel cards and Singara Chennai cards, used for metro travel and parking payments, cannot be replaced or refunded if lost.

Commuters have therefore been advised to take extra care in safeguarding their cards.

According to CMRL, the balance on a lost Singara Chennai card cannot be refunded in line with RBI and NPCI guidelines and issuer policies, as a lost card may be misused by another person. The metro operator reiterated its commitment to providing a safe and reliable travel experience for all passengers and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused. It also thanked commuters for their continued cooperation and feedback as it works towards improving its systems.
