Chennai: Impersonator arrested for posing as lawyer and judge

CHENNAI: Madhavaram police have arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly impersonating both a lawyer and a judge to defraud multiple individuals.

The accused, Murali Mohan alias Mohammed Meeran, was apprehended by Madhavaram police following a complaint.

A victim, Ajmal, reported paying the suspect approximately Rs. 30 lakh for promised legal services related to a property sale that never occurred.

Investigation revealed Meeran had no legal education but used a fake lawyer’s ID.

Police discovered he similarly cheated others, including a man deceived of Rs. 28 lakh in a land deal. Authorities have seized fraudulent documents and are investigating further potential fraud cases.
