B.Tech student found dead

A 19-year-old girl student of Anna University was found dead after she apparently fell from the terrace of her hostel building, police said today.

The girl was identified as Shanmuga Preetha (19), a second year B.Tech Ceramic Technology student at the Guindy College of Engineering under the varsity.

She had gone to the terrace of her hostel around 11 PM yesterday and was found in an injured condition soon after and rushed to hospital where she was declared brought dead.

"Our investigation so far suggest that the death of the student may be an accident", an official of Kotturpuram Police Station said.

He, however, added that the complete facts would emerge after the probe was completed.
