About 36 hours after two intoxicated BJP office bearers threatened to call Union Home Minister Amit Shah's PA and trigger a communal riot in Chennai, police on Wednesday morning arrested the accused.

They have been identifed as Baskar and Purushoth. On Monday night, they approached an eatery in Triplicane that was shutting shop and made the owner serve them chicken rice. The trouble began when the owner of the eatery asked them to pay up.

"One call from us can bring 1,000 people here and it can lead to a communal violence," one of them seen saying in a video.

Sensing trouble, the Muslim owner of the eatery called the police.
