4-yr-old electrocuted in Kannagi Nagar

A four-year-old girl was electrocuted by an immersion water heater in Kannagi Nagar on Monday. The deceased, Yashini, was the daughter of Ezhumalai-Vasanthi couple of Madhuranthagam, who stays in a rented house in Kannagi Nagar.

On Monday, Ezhumalai heated the water to bathe and left the immersion heater without switching it off. Yashini touched it and suffered an electric shock. Hearing her cries, her parents rescued the girl and rushed her to the nearby health centre. But as the doctor was not available, she was rushed to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. But she was declared brought dead. On information, the Kannagi Nagar police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
