44 air horns seized in surprise check by RTO

Chengalpattu Regional Transport Office conducted a surprise check on vehicles plying on GST Road and seized air horns form the vehicles on Monday morning. Two vehicles without proper documents were also seized.

Kancheepuram district collector P Ponnaiah had ordered the Chengalpattu RTO to take immediate action following complaints of use of air horns in the locality. 

On Tuesday, a team of RTO officials headed by vehicle inspector Baskaran conducted a surprise check near the Medical college hospital bus stop. Many government buses, lorries and car which was using air horn were booked. 

RTO officials said that totally 46 vehicles were booked for violation. Air horns from 21 vehicles were seized and the drivers were let off with a warning. Also, fine was collected from other 23 vehicles for using air horns.
