The deceased, identified as Zing Chai Moi of Nagaland, was staying in a rented house at Chettipedu, Thandalam, near Sriperumbudur with six friends from her native State. Chai Moi was working in a beauty parlour in the locality. On Monday night all of them went to bed after dinner. The next morning, her friends noticed that Chai Moi did not wake up at the usual time. When they tried to wake her up, there was no response.

Soon the women alerted the house owner and the Sriperumbudur police. The police, who arrived at the spot, sent the body for post-mortem examination to Sriperumbudur government hospital. The Police said that Chai Moi had asthma and she might have died due to breathing difficulty. The police have registered a case and are investigating at all angles.
