CHENNAI: A 15-year-old school student, who placed stones in between the rails in Tiruvottiyur and Wimco Nagar on Sunday, was caught by the railway police.

Officials said this would have led to a signal failure and an accident, as the fishplate was also found removed.

Korukkupet government railway police zeroed in on the boy after inspecting CCTV footage from the area.

When the judge asked, the boy replied that he did that for fun.

The judge warned him against such dangerous actions but directed the officials to hand over the boy to his parents.

The court also asked the parents to keep a close eye on the teenager, who was allegedly involved in similar instances in the past.
