"The south of India has emerged as a key market in India's tourism landscape and Chennai is a key gateway city of the southern region with good infrastructure and connectivity that favours Tamil Nadu's growing potential as a business and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions) destination," Anil Chadha, Chief Operating Officer, was quoted as saying in a statement.

At present, the brand Welcomhotel has a portfolio of 16 hotels with over 1,900 keys and 15 hotels in the pipeline, adding over 1600 keys.
